Meet The Maker

Meet Lauren, the owner and founder of Light My Candle Co. She lives in Rochester, New York with her husband, and two daughters. For over 10 years she has enjoyed working as a full-time high school math teacher in the Rochester City School District. She enjoys baking, beach days, game nights, and of course, candle making! As a working mother, Lauren dedicates her days to meeting the needs of others. When she retreats to her home, she enjoys using candles to create a relaxing and tranquil environment. 

For Lauren, raising her two young girls is the most important job in the world. Her goal as a mother is to create a happy home that her children will always want to return to. Once she discovered that her favorite name brand candles were full of harmful toxins and chemicals she began making her own. After months of research and meticulous testing, soy wax was the perfect choice. It creates a strong scent, burns longer, and is made from natural vegetables (soybeans) unlike traditional paraffin wax candles which are a byproduct of petroleum. She also uses phthalate-free fragrance oils and cotton wicks in order to create the cleanest burn possible. Now, Lauren can burn her candles confidently, knowing that her family and friends can enjoy the aroma from her candles without being exposed to any harmful toxic fumes.

Our mission at Light My Candle Co. is to provide you with scents that spark your creativity, calm your mind, evoke your fondest memories, or simply make your home a happier place to be. We believe that it is essential to take time out of our busy, and sometimes stressful lives, to relax, unwind, clear our mind, and recharge. The aroma and ambiance of candles can be used to set the mood of a room, or they can be used to alter the mood of the people in the room. All of our products are hand-crafted, hand-poured, and made with clean, eco-friendly ingredients that you can feel good about using in your healthy, toxin-free home.
